Once again Mom, Bailey, Abby and I tried to take a little day trip just to get away. We drove up to Omaha to go to the Zoo and maybe see a Omaha Royals game....we had never been up there and had always heard such great things about it. We got about 1/2 way through when my mother recieved a phone call from my father telling her that he had been in a horse riding accident! We immediatley had to leave the zoo to meet him at a hospital in Lincoln.....it was crazy because he was in Lincoln at a dog trial and we were in Omaha which was only about 45 miles away. He ended up with a broken collar bone and one broken rib, he was kept in the hospital for a couple of days to control his pain and then we all made our trek back home! So needless to say we have had a fill of visiting out of town hospitals unexpectedly! As for the zoo we hope to return sometime soon to visit the part that we didn't get to see! As for my Dad he is recovering well, he is very upset because this injury will make him miss a few opening hunting days, but I think my mother may be happy that he will be at home more. :) Here are a few pics from the zoo......
I loved the jungle area!!! It was just beautiful and there were just animals everywhere you turned...I thought it was so neat!
I also loved this jellyfish tank that they had.....there were hundreds of jellyfish just floating around and it was in a dark room and it was really cool!
The NE state fair was going on while we were in Lincoln so we left the hospital for a few hours to go to the fair! It was fun, there is nothing better than fair food and bailey loves the animals, got some face painting done and we also took a little ride on the ferris wheel!
